On Monday morning Neymar met Paris Saint-Germain’s newly-appointed sporting director Leonardo Araujo.
There is no official information on what the talks between the duo were about. Various Catalan and French news outlets report different or even contradicting stories. Another local source, Paris United, provide their own alleged version of the events.
Apparently, Leonardo hasn’t threatened Neymar with punishment contrary to what Le Parisien have stated earlier. In fact, there has been no mention of Neymar’s potential sanctions following his late arrival at the pre-season training. The Brazilian was expected to rejoin the squad last week while the player’s entourage insisted he was granted an extra week due to his sponsors’ commitments in his home country.
Paris United insist that the main topic of the conservation between Neymar and Leonardo has been the club’s conditions on the Brazilian’s desired departure. PSG allegedly remain firm in their determination to gain as much money as possible from Neymar’s potential exit.
According to the same source, Neymar could be only allowed to leave if a €300million offer arrives.
Previously, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has already admitted the Catalans had to take out a €35m loan in order to meet Antoine Griezmann’s €120million release clause. Paris United’s alleged sum of €300million seems to be virtually impossible for the Catalans to afford.
